Leith is an entanglement of people, industries and materials told and re-told in the stories of those that live, work and pass through the port. Aided by alcohol, these stories are most often told in pubs. A pub, like Leith, is rather like a rope: a messy confluence of stories and people. This project for a pub, brewery and hop-house at the convergence of Broad Wynd, Water Street and Carpet Lane in Leith has some of these rope-like qualities.
