As an illustrator my work focuses on narratives themed around mental health and personal struggle as well as mixing everyday life with the supernatural and paranormal. I enjoy combining digital practice with traditional media to create a distinct style for my stories using organic and structured line.
I spent this final year developing my comics practice across print and digital platforms. I value telling meaningful stories that readers can relate to with engaging twists to spark interest. This was reflected in my final projects.

'OUTSIDE'
'OUTSIDE' is a printed comic about agoraphobia and the fear of going outside. I used imagery of dark shadowy monsters to symbolise the main character's struggles with her phobia, while making use of subtle and minimal accompanying text to further convey the way she tries to ignore this issue. The comic itself was painted using watercolour and digitally finished as a greyscale print.
'Always Used To.'
'Always Used To.' was my first exploration into web comics as a format. It tells the story of a girl dealing with the loss of her mother and the guilt of leaving her father alone. This grief and guilt manifests in apparitions of ghosts slowly cluttering her everyday life. The comic was made with inked linework and watercolour before the ghosts were added digitally.
