Silhouettes, texture, and instinct drive the visual content of my recent work. I use these elements to create a visual density of charged abstractions suspended between the familiar and incomprehensible.
My works are centred in exploring composition through still life. I am interested in the moments of uncertainty and happy accidents that exist in the images I make through re-arranging, discovering and choreographing different materials.
My emotional climate and current geographical position are strong aspects that dictate the decisions I make and methods I use as well. I draw from long-forgotten emotions and feelings that come very natural to me. The innate longing for the familiar and memories of home are manifested in the topographic quality of how I approach my new sculptures.
