I enjoy working digitally, with coloured pencils, ink and collage. However, I primarily work with printmaking, finding joy in traditional processes such as Lino cutting and relief printing. During COVID I transformed my box bedroom into a mini print studio, I found ways of creating without having access to the print facilities, for example using a glass shelf from the fridge to roll out my ink and hanging a washing line through the centre of my room to peg work to dry.
My work embraces the organic nature of hand printing, with every fingerprint and misplaced ink mark narrating the individuality of each print, and the rawness that accompanies such an arduous and tangible process without a print press. I love marrying print making with my digital illustrations by infusing the same energy found in the textures of my prints through using similar textures and patterns in my drawings.
