Reimagining how the urban park can adapt to climate breakdown, social justice, health and well being.

During a year like no other, the urban park became more than ever a place of calm, of safe gathering, of escape and of exercise. It is within this context that the MA4 Landscape Architecture students developed speculative and imaginative proposals for the rethinking of several existing parks within the cities of Edinburgh, Zurich and Guangzhou. Projects this year have included; the transformation of a disused tram line in central Zurich, the creation of a playful streetscape in Guangzhou, the transformation of an existing golf course into an new public park situated on Edinburgh’s coastline.
