Animal and agrarian practices shape the architecture of Outposts and Embassies in, of and for the countryside.

The studio explores the countryside as a generative terrain. It investigates sites outside the usual concerns of architectural practice and the cultural, colonial and cultivational impulses of what is conventionally referred to as ‘countryside’. Through drawings and films, variously recording and constructing Field Station sites across the globe, it develops proposals for a series of Outpost and Embassy buildings. These buildings become architectural advocates for non-human occupants that are conscious of the changing demands of occupants and the vagaries of the seasons and climate.
