Bio

Sacha Brice is a twenty-three-year-old Graphic Design graduate. With a vested interest In Illustration, her work often intertwines the two pathways, using illustration to further propel the concepts present in her design work. This is certainly true of the work featured below from her Independent Project, The Blackwood Collective, in which she and collaborator Lydia Leneghan, designed and illustrated a twenty-two card Oracle Deck. Inspired by English Folklore, Gothic and Folk Horror, the Occult and spiritualism, the research led Brice down the rabbit hole, reading James George Frazer's 'The Golden Bough', scouring the V&A's online collection for folk and fairytale inspiration from the past and obsessively re-watching 1973's 'The Wicker Man' to create Oracle Cards that stand as a testament to English Folklore.
