Due to the benefits that blue spaces have on people’s mental health, I decided to dedicate a large area of the park to a raised water feature which would stand out as a defining feature of this space. The top right corner of the water feature leads into a hard paving public square which acts as a framework element of the park. This paved element links the north end of the park to the allotments and then sports pitches. The square could be used as a market area perhaps once a week or month allowing locals to buy and sell, encouraging community relationships and companionships. The south eastern part of this drawing shows an extension of the street which acts as an open square consisting of trees and benches which is naturally raised from the rest of the park, providing pleasant views across the park.
