Say It Like You Mean It: Your Move Into the Creative Industries
Seminar
Say It Like You Mean It: Your Move Into the Creative Industries
Date: 22 June 2021
Time: 2.30pm (BST)
Location: Online

Join Creative Edinburgh as they share the value of having a creative network - and owning your place within it!

About this event

No matter what you study, one thing is for sure as a creative: no one career path will ever look the same. So where do you start when considering your next steps? Who are the people who can support your early stage career? And just how do you introduce yourself to them when you meet?

At this interactive session, Creative Edinburgh will explore the value of knowing your worth and being curious about the wider industry when it comes to building your network. The team will guide you through a values exercise and the dos and don’ts of networking before giving you a chance to put your knowledge into practice!

Who are Creative Edinburgh?

Creative Edinburgh is Edinburgh’s foremost network for creative freelancers and businesses.

Through events, mentoring and advocacy, we support over 5,000 creatives from across sectors, providing space for connection, creation and collaboration at every stage.

About your hosts

Anna Gormezano Marks is Acting Executive Director at Creative Edinburgh. With over 4 years experience as part of the core team, Anna works closely with our community to find the support they need along side coordinating our Mentoring Programme. A painting graduate from ECA, with experience in sales, team management, events curation, visual merchandising and as a visual artist, she is interested in communication and the relationships between place and peace of mind.

Kath Warren is Programme Manager at Creative Edinburgh. She works closely with our partners and community to design and deliver our Events and Skills programmes. She graduated from studying English Literature at the University of Glasgow in 2018 and has worked at various events and festivals across the UK, including Edinburgh International Festival, Edinburgh International Book Festival, Hay Festival and Aberdeen's Granite Noir Festival. She also writes (sporadically) at The Warren, an arts and culture site.
